Ingredients
- Grated bitter gourd (karela) , unpeeled- 20 grams
- Grated carrot 🥕- 10 grams
- Boiled and coarsely mashed green peas - 10 grams
- Crumbled low-fat paneer- 15 grams
- Finely chopped coriander- 10 grams
- Multigrain bread crumbs- 5 grams
- Green chilli paste - 1 tsp
- Dry mango powder- 1 tsp
- Oil for greasing and cooking- 5 grams
- Salt to taste
- Method
- 1. Coat a bit of salt onto the bitter gourd, mix all well and keep it aside for 2 to 3 minutes. Squeeze the water from it and keep it aside.
- 2. Now, combine bitter gourd, green peas, carrot, paneer, coriander, bread crumbs, dried mango powder, green chilli paste and salt in a bowl and mix it all well.
- 3. Divide the mixture in equal portions and shape each portion into round flat tikkis.
- 4. Heat up a non-stick tava and grease it using few drops of oil.
- 5. Cook each tikki with minimal drops of oil till the time it turns golden brown from both the sides.
- 6. Serve karela tikkis hot, along with green chutney.
